I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a 1942-D over 1 Mercury dime? I certainly hope it is! Thank you!

Blueszone's photo is of the Philadelphia DDO 1942/1, not the Denver which looks different. It is not just the 2/1 part of the date that is significant, the "4" doubling is quite significant also, so,many references call it the 42/41 DDO variety. It is a doubled die since the working die was pressed both with a 1941 hub and a 1942 hub. The Denver variety also has a Repunched mint mark RPM-4 on the reverse. But no, the posted coin is not either variety.

No problem, I should have put up the 42/41 D photo, but I got lazy.At least you put one up :) I really love the class 3 type of doubled dies.

The 42/41 is less obvious. Here is an image for you.

ccspeedydemon!

I'm sorry your Mercury dime was not the Denver 42/1.

But, your photography skills are awesome!
