Is This A 1942/1- D Mercury Dime? - Coin Community Forum

desertgem Pillar of the Community United States 860 Posts	Posted 06/24/2011 8:12 pm Blueszone's photo is of the Philadelphia DDO 1942/1, not the Denver which looks different. It is not just the 2/1 part of the date that is significant, the "4" doubling is quite significant also, so,many references call it the 42/41 DDO variety. It is a doubled die since the working die was pressed both with a 1941 hub and a 1942 hub. The Denver variety also has a Repunched mint mark RPM-4 on the reverse.
