Like I said, I don't have it in hand currently, it may be less worn, more squashed. That may be why things don't line up.

Here's mine. I know it's a British halfpenny of George II, and the silhouette that's still visible is of the "earlier bust" type. Date options are 1729-1739, but as far as I can tell there's just nothing left of a date there to read.

I always think of how many times these coins were used, how many people touched them and who the owners may have been. These coins have less value, but much more history and they were made at a time that the the countries they came from were much younger. I like to think of what might have happened to them along the way. Some had to have been in bank robberies and hold ups. Did someone die trying to keep it or maybe died trying to take it. Did some of these coin have a part in an event we all have heard of?

The uncirculated coins we all love have been around the same number of years as the counterparts pictured here, but most of the time they stayed in a dark safe place where nothing could happen to them. I love a well used coin and like to think of the stops it made along the way to our collections.

These are the most used coins we have, but they survived their purpose over the years better than 99.9% of the coins we see and just the fact that they made it through so many years make me want to keep them. I'll let the next guy sell my 1778-S Dime for melt. I can see it needs to rest for a while and I'll display right it along with any MS-70 coin I ever get.

Southern Yankee- Wow, I have never seen such a worn Kennedy half. I suppose that that was someone's pocket piece for many years.

Here are a couple of my most worn coins. I'll let you take a guess what the first coin even is. (I will only post the obverse since the reverse is totally blank).

Here's my personal favourite.
KM#618 George III 1797 "Cartwheel Penny".
Just enough detail to identify it but for its sheer size and weight it couldn't be confused with anything else. Could it?
