I am thinking of adding another nicer 1889 CC to my collection but am leery about buying anything this valuable unslabbed. First, what do you think this coin would grade at? Why do you think the owner hasn't had it graded yet? And finally what do you think it is worth? I am just looking right now but may jump on it if the price stays around where it is now. I really don't know why he wouldn't have a coin like this slabbed. But really, I would spend this kind of cash on a coin like that unless he would offer a return of your money if the coin doesn't come back as authentic.

ya. the photo's are showing a rounded breast... a good sign. however the detail is lacking any feather defintion...its AU50 at best. not AU55 quite a price difference...NOT EVEN AU 53 or your fooling yourself...

Sooo many sellers on ebay show their coins slanted, at an angle or tilted in the photos. When I see this, it means to me that they are trying to hide something. I usually move on, or ask for better images. |

I don't like the appearance of the coin - it's too "white" for the little luster. In the seller's own words, it Quote:
may of been dipped long ago Which I'd consider true, if he thinks last week is "long ago." This coin is already bid to its' actual value. Walk away. |

Tilted photos I run from un-less it's VAM I what or slabed...and then veiw them as a detailed coin or in the case of the slabbed coin wish to see a better photo. And as Dave already said it looks cleaned and that would explain why it's not slabbed. The seller would prefer a buyer to grade it instead of have it in a slab that said DETAILS. |

I don't take the angle of the photo into account, just what I see in the pixels. Occam's Razor says that chances are, they're not being deceptive by angling the shot, just ignorant. You can have pity then.  But if you're looking at a raw true key, being sold by a seller with a long record of selling coins, it's pretty obvious what's going on here. The buyer got taken for $1000 at best, IMO. |

TAKEN TAKEN-TAKEN no way a $3400 dollar coin....It must be nice to have money to throw away....For that cash... only TOP TPG's slabbed coins... DON'T they know you can just ORDER them from you local dealer? |

I would NEVER purchase an expensive coin raw unless I was absolutely sure it was authentic and I would have to inspect it in hand. 1889-CC is heavily counterfeited. Purchase at your own risk.

He has 4 1889CC Morgans on right now. Plus a few other Key/SemiKey Morgans and a 1916d Merc.
Rather very rich pockets or something else going on.

Plus sold 13 since other 1889CC Morgans since March. One was PCGS though
