It might be a jewelry imitation of a sovereign/half sovereign? BTW a real half weighs 3.994 grams what does yours weigh? Report this Post to the Staff
zyelev New Member United Kingdom 2 Posts	Posted 08/25/2011 05:16 am thanks for your input, you may well be correct, I certainly can't find any reference to this anywhere.I am a volounteer for a childrens charity & I get a lot of coins handed in, 99% I can identify, but this stumped me.Will have to get it checked for gold content,may just be junk. thank you again. A gold test would determine the difference - if it's gold, then a jewellery replica - if it's brass, then it's play money.
