Wulffy, put it this way: if I had kept all those shields I came across (from circulation/roll-searching etc.), I'd have around 10-15 dollars worth, probably more! I was even given 4 solid original bank-wrapped rolls of 2010's, that I decided to keep (they were my first solid rolls of any denomination). Like I said, only going for MS no problem examples now

I hoard silver (like everyone else that can find it), wheat cents, any copper LMCs I run across and pre-1960 nickels. Only hoarding silver makes any sense, the rest is just insanity.

I hoard the Nicer looking 2009 bicentennial cents. I like the design of them. Might also have to start hoarding Presidential dollars if any of congresses new bills get passed so I have enough to get through the possible 15 year halt of production.

why hoarding the shield cents? are they going to change the design again. Speaking of cents people must be hoarding the 2009 Lincoln cents with the 4 different backs. I see so few of them in circulation or even in rolls that I have gotten.

I guess you can't call it hoarding any more but I always kept silver when I saw it. Never see it now, but back in my youth. I found a roll yesterday that I had put away of silver quarters found in change many years ago. best was a 26 standing liberty and a 38S in pretty nice shape.

Now I do save wheat ears but so do most people.

Actually I rarely see the 2009 cents in my change, same goes for the westward journey nickels as well.

I hoard every 1929-33 double eagle I come across. Right now I have about 5, with a margin of error of about 5.

NoHope thats funny! Its something about those darn 76ers that get me everytime. B
I also have a hard time spending my change, even after I search it. I too am getting a little better. I'm pretty much a hoarder of everything. I wound up taking a little hit buying a P & D Box of 2010 shield cents, Paid like $38 for one and $42 on the other. Plus 16$ shipping, Think that $100 could of been spent a little wiser. But I got shield fever. I've been evaluating my hoarding lately, all the money I tie up in hopeful resales, to buy a coin I want for my collection, I could cash in and use for a specific purchase. I know come Oct. a lot of it will be gone for the 25th anv set. :-)

I hoard copper cents because its an easily found coin in circulation which has a value backed by the material it is made of.
