The Mint News Blog, also had this to say about the bullion coins, in August the Mint sold 4,100 coins to registered APs. These simply are not selling, when you compare with the sales of ASEs to APs, which was more than 3M ounces, it is staggering how unpopular these coins are. If the Mint does cancel the collector series, it would be good for ones that already have been issued. The glut of 2011 bullion coins probably means that 2012's mintages would be reduced, they are unlikely to strike 127,500 per design again. As for NP6, this may be the coin I get later in the aftermarket if the price of silver drops a bit and the cost is closer to melt than $280. In any event, I'm saving my pennies for the 25th Anniversary ASE set...

Yeah, maybe I'll hold off on NP6 until after the ASE 25th is released and I get my order in. At that point it would have had a month to set in and is not likely at all to sell out in that time based on current trends. I would hope I could pick it up for, as you said, Bizybackson, closer to melt. Thing is, why would someone buy it and then list it on ebay knowing that they'd get less for it than they paid less than a month before?

3 more days to make up my mind... hmm.... leaning towards yes. Think I'll do the 2011's and then figure out what's going on based on silver spot, mintage #'s, and selling price for the 2012's.

About 16 hours and counting! It's been so long since I dropped 280 bucks on 5oz of silver that I'm kind of getting excited about it again.... man I'm a sucker.

I was with you there on ordering this today, CK, until silver tumbled below my buy price of $37/oz, so I added the bullion Vicksburg and Chickasaw instead this morning to complete my 2011 bullion set. Not bad at around $200 for each puck.

NP6 is gonna have to wait until the end of next week for payday! I really like these coins, they seem really substantial in hand, I'd go with these over 5 ASEs anytime.

On the flip side, it's not like this puck is going to sell out in the next 3 weeks, so I think perhaps I'll follow your lead on this one and just stock up on bullion.

I stopped by the bullion shop today and they were out of ASEs and just about everything else so I just bought a bunch of 90%. Works for me.

Bears running all of the markets today, all that money has to go somewhere, those bulls from Asia will be back, probably by this weekend. Good day to stock up on some PMs. I waited 3 weeks before I ordered NP4 & NP5, and Gettysburg is probably not going to sell out in two weeks like the first two issues did. Just keep an eye out for the upcoming Mint News Blog or Coin News.net bulletins for initial sales figures after the first week. You can gauge from that how much time you have to safely order the coin before a sellout.

I agree, Bizy! This overpriced puck will be around for a long time and when silver rebounds I'll be more comfortable accepting that friggin' margin.

The market is back open and silver's on an uptick. However if it does drop more (like another buck or 2) I'm going to probably buy the 2010 year of bullion ATBs.

However..... if I wait too long the ASE 25th Anniversary Set will be upon us!

Man, I need to win the lottery.

By the way...has ANYONE bought this puck yet?
