AWESOME!!!!
First, get it certified by one of the top 3 grading services. That is definately important, especially if you plan to sell it.

Nice find! I have come to notice the different sort of design features that come on 1992s. The fuzzier design I believe doesn't have the ability to be a CLAM,
but the 1993 and up design has the same features and I believe is possible to be a CLAM. Yours is definetly a 1993-up design.

How poor a condition would a cent like this have to achieve to lack any serious collector interest?

Poor enough that it isn't recognizable I believe these are still rare enough that they are desirable in any condition.

Personally I don't see any reason why it needs to be certified. Is there any reason to believe that it might be fake? I know the Chinese are counterfeiting a lot of things, but 1992 cents? Certifiy it to prove what it is? These are so easy to identify that if you need a TPG to tell you it is a Close AM you probably shouldn't be buying it anyway. And if you do know what it is, why do you need the TPG to tell you what you already know?

What's the population on this one, like 3? Seriously, IIRC, this is the third one found (there are somewhat more 1992-D Close AM). So, the reason why it ought to be sent to a TGP, is because that's the only way Heritage sells things.

CONGRATS on a FANTASTIC FIND!

PM Bullnuke on this forum, I believe he found one of these.

Ask him what he did to get his coin certified etc. Hope that helps!.

Congrats again,

Chuck.

Not good at grading but I would say XF-45 to AU but the eye appeal is low.
