I like the TestTrack's design! Great minds think alike? :)
I didn't see any machines other than the cents. Thanks for reporting and showing all the cool results! I was excited to see them and you did not disappoint!

I'm also happy with the results. I'm amazed at how well the dime worked in particular. I guess the circulation cameo really helped the design stay visible. Also, some design elements (like Lady Liberty's eye and the back of her head) which fell in the high points of the squisher's design were left undisturbed, as the coin failed to fill all of the devices.
I also thought about putting a dime in the cent flattener, but didn't get around to it. I know the Seattle Aquarium has some of these machines, as does the Space Needle, so I might try if I ever go back to either of those places.

These are Awesome! You have inspired me. I am going to the space needle next week and I have some dollar coins for the quarter machine they have there. I will also be doing some IHC and silver quarters, possible a SLQ and a Barber. I will roll any coin at any time.

Years from now on a coin forum somebody will post that space mountain merc and say "who would do this to a Mercury dime?" Haha

There are plenty of common circulated Indian Head cents and silver coins to go around for anyone who wants to collect them, so we exonumists might as well roll some of these old coins to make unique elongateds! I once had Ray Dillard roll a Flying Eagle cent for me using his Flint Flying Eagle Coin Club design. That's one F.E. cent that'll never make it into a type set! I gotta dig that out sometime...

One piece of advice I would give to anyone doing this is to choose coins with a good deal of contrast between the devices and fields, like the merc.

Nice... agree on choosing coins with contrast, if you have more notice you can start saving the contrasty ones from circ (esp. pre 1982 copper) as 'blanks'.

Very cool. I find myself also conditioned to say. "Who would do this to a Mercury dime?" Then after reality hits me, there are so very many common date ones that get melted every day -- so why not preserve one in this manner? Great idea!
