why do people always say its kids that spend the coins at banks, or thieves? I worked at a gas station and all the coins I got but 1 silver dime were from adults way older then me, a 19-20 year old at the time I got proofs, silver dimes, quarters, nickels, and halves people are unaware for the most part also people have them left to them after a relative dies or something and doesn't know what to do. My one boss returned rolls of silver dollars, old bills, and other old change to the bank because she didn't know what to do with them. My friend got a bunch of half dollars from his grandma, I told him I would look at them for him, and they were all clad 71 or newer halves but 1 coin. One was a Walking Liberty half. I told him to hold onto it for sure, and that the others could be taken to the bank. He is 21 like me. He asked. A young kid asked. It isn't always kids, 9 times out of 10 older people are returning this stuff. I was getting full rolls of old coins (wheats, silver and buffalos) The people who took them to the bank each month were a very old couple. The tellers told me. Just saying as a young "kid" I hate seeing all the people on all the sites say that a kid was probably behind a nice coin find. Thats my 2 sense, Nice find

Chris, I have cashiered off and on for a good portion of my life and overwhelmingly its kids or questionable individuals dropping thngs like proof and old coins. Yes, plenty of older folks my pass along a silver coin or two thats in circulation, but when someone hands a clerk 10.79 in morgans, peace, Franklins, Buffalo and Indian heads, more times than not, its a kid who got into a collection.
