Hello and Thanks for looking at my post,
I have in my collection a 1876-S Trade dollar, I haven't got a clue where it came from but I'm trying to obtain as much info as possible,
It looks like it's a Copper Coin that's been Silver Plated.
Please see Pictures for more details.
My question is this, If it's a fake then do I keep hold of it or throw it in my Copper Scrap Bin?
Anthony - Birmingham - England.

Welcome!

Counterfeit/replica coin. Probably with Chinese origins.
Rest in Peace

Yea, its a cheeeeep knockoff, probably plated w/ nickel, pewter tin or some other silvery metal. Looks just like my trade copy, only mine's not been a pocket piece!

Ive marked my "COPY" on back just to be sure, we know yours is a fake for sure...

Fake for sure, but don't trash or scrap it.
I would keep it for reference; for educational value.

Hi, I have the same counterfeit. My dad bought it back in the late 90s at flea market in Sacramento for like $25 he didnt know it was fake. He passed it down to me and I suspected it and eventually the silver began to wear off revealing a copper color. Heres some pictures.
