This is my 500th post on this wonderful Forum. I have learned more about numismatics here since joining than in the last 50 years flying solo. I am truly thankful for finding this wonderful family and the many selfless contributors who educate us. It seems that there is a tradition here to celebrate milestone posts with a give-away contest, of which I am absolutely in favor. I would like to pass some of my hoard to young numismatists, so the winner(s) will be someone who tells me about their involvement with a group of young newcomers to the hobby. Prize will include a roll of wheaties from teens onward, some War Nickels, silver dimes, a roll of uncirculated 1973D LMCs, and various other coins. And yes, there can be more than one "winner". Congrats on 500 (my counter says 499, maybe 'cause I'm Down Under?) It's a great gesture to the young collectors and some sweet prizes too

Thank you, ttkoo! As with many other long time collectors (you say hoarder like it's a bad thing!), I have an excess of these sorts of things. No kid, no close relatives, too much trouble for too little return to sell. Why not gift them to youngsters? Heck, now that I think about it, I've got many foreign coins, although I'd rather not pay for international shipping. Waiting for people to step up!

congrats on 500 posts . Just so you and other members know ,it's not really a tradition to have contest giveaways for having a certain amount of posts . You don't have to ,it's up to each individual to do what they want or not do anything at all . I'm all for helping the young collectors to the hobby .

I am a young coin collector who is 14. I have loved coins and collected for 6 years. I have some friends who collect too, and one who even found a 1909 s Indian Head penny (we were really excited about it). Thx for the contest and congrats on the milestone!

Congrats on 500 posts! We try to encourage youngsters to get into the hobby. My local coin club provides free woods and coins at our meetings and shows.

So far 12319558 is in the lead! Remember, there can be more than one winner. Please help me distribute some of this stuff to young collectors.

WOW 500 posts! As I am new here that seems like a great milestone. Keep up the good work. I agree with getting kids interested in collecting so for the last several years I always include a new coin (carded) in presents we give to family and friends. I like to mix them up but the Ike dollars and Kennedy half dollars make a big hit. This Christmas I gave out George Washington dollars coins from an original mint roll. I have like 24+ nieces and nephews and its great to see which ones really enjoy the "little" extra gift.
