With the Morgan and Peace dollar offerings from the mint set to release in the coming months, much of the focus has been on the reverse proof coins, which will apparently be the first Morgan and Peace dollars to exhibit a P mintmark. However, arguably more exciting will be the enhanced uncirculated finish options, which are set to release on August 25th. Not only will these coins be the first ever enhanced uncirculated Morgan and Peace dollars ever released by the mint, but they will also be the first such dollars to be minted at West Point, and, ostensibly, the first to bear the W mintmark.

Is anybody else excited about these offerings?

Plus, I was under the impression that the Morgans and Peace dollars was a one-year release for the anniversary of the 1921 coins. Felt the need to get all 2021 coins, then the Mint got greedy.

I was going, well, I am still planning on, getting these.
My current plan:
I do like that silver Liberty Bell medal. It'll be hard to get it, but I'm going to try, I decided.
IF I'm able to get it, that's the Y in the road. Only going to get ASEs the rest of the year (I think the EU ASE will be "it" for the remainder of the year.
And in the more likely event that I don't get the Liberty Bell medal, then I'll plan on getting the EU Peace & Morgan, plus the 2 coin set.
I MAY get the 2 coin set if it really ends up being this Diamond Field doo-hickey thingamajig. Even if I get the Liberty Bell medal. Or if it turns out to just be a pair of proofs, then I may drop them.
So everything balancing on 1. If I get silver Bell, and 2. Exactly what this 2 coin set actually is.
Luckily 1. There will be plenty of time after the Bell series drops to decide what to do, and 2. I do have these Peace/ Morgan releases on sub and active, just a matter of pausing them if I don't want them.
Oh, PS, I did get the EU Gold Eagle, and can't say I'm extremely stoked over what they consider "EU" this year. If the Peace/Morgan EU are the same type of finish, it's just not that exciting to me. What they called EU in 2013 was 5X cooler.

I stopped dealing with the mint when, I think it was 5 years, ago, they doubled the price on ASEs and silver prrof sets. I had subscriptions for both. There was no legitimate reason to cdliterally doulbe the prices except they knew since they are the only source for modern collectors, that people would pay the price anyway, and after a few year would forget all about it. The product is literally worth half of what they charge as proven by the prio proces still made them a handsome profit (I don't have a problem with that at all). But this greed is sickening to me. I could afford to pay the prices but am insulted by them taking advantage of our hobby and fellow collectors in this way. Price gouging is disgusting. I wish the mint would get DOGED. I have a lot of ASEs I want to dump know b/c I can no linger enjoy them without the greed to continue collecting the series being the first thing that hits me when thinking about them.

@ Earle,

You are Not alone.....

Over the past few years I have seen Doubling prices for The ASE's, Then the Mint Unc sets that use to be about $30.00 are Now $124.95...

Silver Proof sets were $125.00, Now with Silver spot @ about $60/OZ, The sets are now $345.00.....

No Silver, No precious metals, Just Greed.

Just visited the 2026 Product Schedule and found they are selling a 1/2 OZ of Silver in the Liberty Bell Medal example of 2026 for a measly $750.00

They are Also selling a 1/2 OZ Gold version of the Liberty Bell Coin for a mere $10,5000................

They usually charge $1,000.00 Over spot for an OZ of Gold, Usually is Not good enough . Terrible treasonous act on Those who have been supporting them, all along....

No other explanation other than GREED......

Nope - not interested in the least bit.

The US Mint IMO has ruined their product and core fan base by offering overpriced gimmicky coins.

Superhero coins - really.

I don't intend to pay attention to anything the US Mint offers.

Yeah, I think I am too, after this year's Uncirculated Mint Set, which is insanely overpriced, nearly quadrupling the cost of admission from just last year.

If there's an issue of interest, in many cases it can be bought at a substantially lower price on the aftermarket if one isn't too obsessed with getting it ASAP.

I have a US Mint Set collection, and 2026 looks like a pretty good year to call it completed.

Now, if we can all *really* stick to our guns & stop buying this overpriced stuff after 2026, they will get the hint.

I think I'm one of the few actually looking forward to these.

If the two-coin set coming out in the fall does indeed have the diamond finish, that'll make it two unique types in one year.

It's a great time to be a tyoe collector

Looks like toe 2017 Liberty set is getting moved :)

If I'm reading the Mint site correctly, there are 5 separate SKUs and six coins.

The P mintmark/250 privy Proof on July 9 (26NG, 26NJ)

The W mintmark Uncirculated on August 25 (26NH, 26NK)

The Two coin set (26NL) in the fall

All are available as separate subscriptions...

That's how I'm interpreting it also. There is so little continuity across the listings and respective subscriptions, it's hard to be sure.

The new 250th coin designs sucked me back into the mint and proof sets after abandoning them a while back. But I am finished with the new Peace dollar collection given the new pricing and treatments.

That the products will be different across the different product codes. Is it crystal clear to you given the descriptions and changes to products with the same subscription code used last year?

Even the Uncirculated Coin Set has some different langualge between the sub and regular product descriptions.

"The 2026 United States Mint Uncirculated Set includes two cards, each containing 10 encapsulated coins with uncirculated quality finishes.

vs

"U.S. Mint uncirculated coins are struck on special presses using greater force than what is used for circulating coins, producing a sharp, intricately detailed image. "

Based on previous discussions, it seemed generally accepted that if you have the Uncirculated Subscription for each separate dollar, you will receive the Enhanced Uncirculated versions.

The individual Reverse Proof Subscriptions will be Reverse Proofs.

The only uncertain one was the "Morgan and Peace dollar 2026 Two-Coin Set," which changes to "Morgan and Peace dollar Two-Coin Reverse Proof Set Subscription" when you subscribe to it.

Now that the diamond finish appears to be a type of reverse proof, it's likely that's what that set will be.
