Got this from my bank today.
There is obvious doubling on the lower reverse lettering, particularly HALF DOLLAR. Also doubling of the Eagle's left lower tail feathers, along with thickening of all of the lower stars.
I checked Variety Vista and there are six DDR listings for 1971-D--- but none look like this. Possible new DDR?
Thanks for taking a look and for your comments.

Looks like a classic case of Mechanical Doubling aka Die Deterioration Machine Doubling. Yes, I like to use variety vista website when I need to. Good photos by the way!

Thanks mrwhatisit, E&V and Dearborn. I did have a suspicion it was not a DDR, but wanted to make sure.

Anytime you think you have a doubled die., go to varietyvista.com and find an EXACT match. If you do not find an EXACT match (every picture per entry shown must match), then you have a non-collectible form of cdoubling like Machine Doubling or Die Deterioration Doubling.
