2005 P Bison Cud? E In We

I used to say the same thing Nathen. Every clump of metal on a coin was Cud. But thanks to the members here, I've been learned. Cud is only used for extra metal around the perimeter edge of the coin. What you have is a die chip. A piece of the die has broken off and when the coin is pressed the molten metal fills the chip. Quite common and can be found just about anywhere on the coin. Numbers and letters. Still interesting.

Thanks for writing back. I did know that its from a chipped die. As well as that they are pretty common. I just wasnt sure what it was conciderd, becuase these types of die errors dont interest me all that much. Unless of course I find one in pocket change, like I found this one. Strangly enough I have a bunch of error coins in my collection.lol But thank you for clearing up what the error is actaully called.
