It's an impressive amount of silver (just under $4,800.00 spot). He told me a majority had been harshly cleaned, and he's right. The Morgans, Peace dollars, walkers, franklins and War Nickels are all very harshly cleaned. As I was sorting through the roosies, mercs and washingtons, I found a few that were in good condition and hadn't been treated to a steel wool scrub down. Some of the roosies even appear to be MS condition! I don't know a whole lot about quarters or dimes (I like halves and nickles). My question: what are the key dates for roosies, mercs and washingtons? A majority of the mercs are in the 40's, but I did find a few teens and 20's. Report this Post to the Staff

TJB17 Valued Member United States 492 Posts	Posted 03/25/2013 07:45 am The key dates in the Mercury dime series are: - 1916-D - With a mintage of only 264,000 this is by far the rarest Mercury key - 1942/1 Overdate - 1942/1D Overdate Semi-key Mercury dime include: - 1921 - 1921-D - 1926-S - 1931-D - 1931-S As for Roosies, there really haven't been any major business-strike rarities. The only two that come to mind are the 1982 no mint mark and the 1996 W. If he has any proof Roosevelts, there are a couple double die proofs to watch for: - 1960 (obverse) - 1963 (reverse) - 1964-D (reverse) There are also proofs missing the S mint mark: - 1968 - 1970 - 1983 For the Washingtons, watch out for the 1932-D and 1932-S, followed by the 1950-S/D and 1950-D/S. Others worth more than nominal would be the '34-D, '35-D and '36-D along with the '36-S and '37-S. (See SeatedNut's list here.) There may be others I missed, but this will get you started.
