1944 D Penny - Lamination Errors? - Coin Community Forum

Meztido New Member United States 27 Posts	Posted 05/10/2022 5:48 pm Greetings - I hope this isn't a problem but I'm uploading Two Cents, same year and mint, here as I've finally been going through quite a collection I've accumulated. Also, I've been making a habit of putting coins I think are very nice or with possible errors in coin flips to keep track of them, so hope the pics aren't too terrible quality. I'm just a bit apprehensive as I don't want to accidentally damage the coin somehow. Report this Post to the Staff
silviosi Pillar of the Community Canada 6244 Posts	Posted 05/10/2022 6:43 pm Ok.@Meztido: 1. First coin seem to me to be struck with an exfoliation part of other coin. 2. Second coin show that was hit on the pointed part by you and due to the alloy and age exfoliate. Also this coin show carbon deposits on the date. To take out those carbon points I will try first methyl alcohol or white alcohol. The acetone act more with polymeric materials. Report this Post to the Staff
