Is there a particular reason that you believe this cent is unique and worth more than one cent?

Looks to be a very low mileage '23 D. Might be early onset of obverse Die Deterioration. Not seeing anything out of the ordinary. Value is one cent.

to the CCF

The photos are way bright - and the blasting reflections obscure the surfaces.

That said - I see an everyday common coin. Value is 1 cent.

Why do you think this is worth more?

With the photos provided, we (I think most here will agree) can't give an accurate grade and because of that, at this time value is 1 cent. Now that value might change with better photos.
For now keep it safe in a 2x2 or flip.

Looking at the rims you can see many "dings" - from circulation or from being tossed around in bins or mint bags? Who knows

for future posts do not use any type of flash or overhead lighting. it causes glare that obscures the surfaces of a coin which is needed to assess a coin.

I am guessing you posted this b/c in hand it looks like a beautiful coin and you have been seeing online where coins in slabs can bring in a lot of money?

The problem is a lot of people lose money thinking this way. It takes an understanding of wht the slabbing companies actually are and do to NOT lose money using them. You will not get the high money level grades b/c that is not how they work.

Unfortunately a lot of people lose a lot of money b/c of the false idea they get online of how the companies work and what they actually are for.

Go here to find the reality of using them:

Earle42 has some good input. keep in mind that most modern coins that you will find in circulation were minted in the billions and are basically worth face value.

one tip I can give you is dont fall into the grading trap. since it seems you are quite new, most have no clue what it costs to have a coin graded. a single coin at PCGS would cost about $100, NGC about $60, ANANCS about $50 and CACG about $100. as you can see you need to have quite a valuable coin to go through this process without chewing up all the value of a coin.

your are not going to get rich searching coins in circulation but you may find a few every now and then that have some value. dont believe everything you see on social media like " I found this 1804 silver dollar in a wall" or "this coin could be worth $500,000. its your time to do with what you want but if you are interested in numismatics, start a collection of a series that you are attracted to while looking for that elusive coin. it will be more satisfying.

happy hunting and remember that the folks here are here to help. if you find something post it. we will be glad to give you an honest opinion instead of trash you. everyone started somewhere and everyone is still learning.
