Saruma Pillar of the Community United States 968 Posts	Posted 10/11/2011 11:28 pm Definitely NOT 1916 or 1917 type 1. Dates were most likely to get worn off before 1925. So my guess would be 1917-1924...BUT plenty of recessed date coins get worn off too. Maybe someone else knows how to narrow down the date on 1917-1930 coins. Saruma Pillar of the Community United States 968 Posts	Posted 10/12/2011 12:03 am You can tell type 1 (1916 and some 1917) quarters from the rest because there will be no stars below the eagle, as well as some more subtle characters that I won't go into right now.
