I don't know what coin it is, John, but I can see some doubling on the reverse which is cool.

As a starting point for you. It's a Severus Alexander.

It's an AE sesterius of Severus Alexander

Obverse: IMP ALEXANDER PIVS, laureate head to the right with drapery on left shoulder

Reverse: PROVIDENTIA AVG S-C, Providentia standing to the front with head left, holding two corn-ears over modius in right hand and cornucopiae in the left hand

RIC 642, Rome mint

When asking for help on a Roman bronze it helps to have a size reference. This is either a sestertius or an as with Providentia reverse. A Severus Alexander sestertius should weigh about 20g. An as will be less than half that.

But this is a sestertius? The weight is only 14.5gr...

I don't have one that light but this has some porosity and is a later type so I suspect that is reasonable. I've not seen the as but acsearch lists one at 7.47g. Their lightest sestertius is 17g and most are 20+.
