Spent $15 in Sacawagea $1 and $3.50 in Kennedy halves for lunch yesterday. The young register clerk had never seen a half dollar before and had to ask an older supervisor if it was OK to accept them. I always get a laugh when that happens. Also, spent 6 more Sacawagea $1 for 2 gallons of milk at local CVS. Total spent $24.50. $52,517.50 to go. |

I picked up $3000 in Dollars in December, but just getting around to posting. I have spent all $3000 back into circulation over the last 4 months on small dollar transactions- gas, restaurant tips, small grocery store purchases, dollar store purchases, flea markets, etc. The dollars were mixed SAC/SBA, mostly presidential.
I'd say between 2/3 and 3/4th of the people taking the coins had some kind of surprise or wanted to keep them/cash them out of the register.

I should add that I really got another 1400 in original Mint-wrapped rolls of Presidential dollars. I have kept those for now. I also did not include coins I kept- I scored some NIFC SACs, a few proof SBAs, Proof SAC and even got a few proof PRES, and two NIFC 2013 PRES dollar. |

We're past the halfway point and it took us two years and 17 days. I wonder if we'll reach the finish line sooner than we reached the $50k mark.
Anyway, I put one in a church collection basket on Easter Sunday.
