Mortgage in dollar coins would be impressive. I meant to add, when I payed for dinner the other night, the server stared at the coins in confusion then said, "Hel* yea, Dollar coins!" Just Like a pizza place I frequent with dollar coins, I bet he pocketed them. Always fun to see.

I'm sure my Credit Union will not mind if I wheel in a couple cart of dollars to pay my car/CC bills..... since they have a coin counter and always accepting coins.

BUT that doesn't count as "circulating"!

If I'd found them in circulation I probably would not be spending them (unless there were a LOT of them).
See this other thread about counterstamped nickels.
https://goccf.com/t/123059

Here is a study Question: When is a counterstamp a chopmark? Let's say that I take an ordinary common-date circulated Morgan dollar and apply all the tests known to me and determine that it is in fact a real Morgan dollar and not a Chinese fake, and then apply my chop-mark or counterstamp to attest that the coin is in fact what it appears to be, pledged with my sacred honor. Let's assume the coin in question was never worth more than a small amount over melt in the first place. Does the chop-mark increase the value? (because the next owner will have an increased confidence that it is real, based upon his knowledge of my reputation)? (BTW, the mark itself can be examined for evidence of breaking through any possible plating) Or does the chop decrease the value (because the coin is now "damaged" and less collectible than before)? Or is it a "wash" because those effects balance out?

Over on the other thread (referenced above) we found that counterstamping is legal, for ideological or political purposes. But NOT for advertising. So a chop-mark with the name of my business would presumably be illegal, but with a political message it is not. Hmmmm...

Oh... and not to hijack the thread...
Six more spent to buy flashlight batteries. (nobody noticed the counterstamps) $96,436 to go!
