One for a donation board (it had spaces for quarters and a few which said "25ยข or $1" underneath each of the larger slots). Later on, five for a sandwich and four for a box of cookies, for a total of ten coins spent.

The title of this thread is Quote: Project $100K. Circulating dollar coins Quote: 24 G$ + $6.50 in half dollars for groceries The purpose of this thread was to post the spending of dollar coins of all types and how can the total of dollar coins spent be accurate when half dollars are also subtracted from the dollars total? They should not be included in this thread. Ed ANA LM-3175

Ed, Quoting the OP: Quote: I propose a Coin Community Forum project called Project 100K where we in the course of regular commerce spend $100,000 worth of golden dollar coins or half dollars. Post here with how many you spent, where, and what if any curious anecdotes you have regarding your transaction.

$4 presidentials with a $5 bill for lunch, plus another coin into the tip jar. The girl behind the counter stared at the coins in silence for about 15 seconds before dropping them into her register.

I spent a 40% silver Eisenhower dollar at the movies, (for silver value of course) So... I'm not sure if we subtract silver value or face value. 92,394 if face value 92,383.75 if silver value
