That tends to be a personal preference. I'm not afraid to unlimber the Dremel, myself.
With that said, caution needs to be exercised depending on the value and/or likelihood of counterfeit versions, if you ever intend to sell the coin later. If it's one of those "don't buy it unless it's in a slab" coins like a Trade dollar, think harder than you might for a common-date Morgan.
I don't think so. Unless the coin may not receive the same grade again, (which is what they're referring to above) it could be.
Also, it's always dangerous to take "investment" coins out their protective slab. But if this is how you choose to enjoy your coins and you handle them properly, it's not a bad thing at all in my book.
