Hello,

I am very confused. I've some research on this SF, NSF, near and far leaf on this 1953 nickel. My nickel, is horribly beat up but quite discernible.

Here is what I see and what I'm asking. My leaf is a little between near and far. My 9 comes close to the denticles. Obverse is just as confusing. My "I" in DEI is not flared but the Lady Queen herself has no shoulder straps.

Can someone please help me identify what variety of the 1953 nickel series this is?

Thnx

4228

SF near
Though the shoulder fold is visible on your coin it can be subject to wear. You were right in looking at "I" as a marker.
