How do all of you get your half dollar wraps without breaking the bank? Sometimes if I ask for them, the branch will give me a handful, but this isn't nearly enough. I am wanting to go through 6-10 boxes a week and all the ones I have gotten so far have been machine wrapped and it is hard to salvage those wraps. Thanks.

coinsupplyexpress.com is the best-priced supply source I've found so far. The boxes of halves I get from my local bank are hand-wrapped, so the wrappers are reusable. Ask at other banks in your area - if any of them get boxes of halves that are manually wrapped, it might be worthwhile to set up a small savings account with them so you could "be a customer" and get your halves through them.

Just compared the prices of bank supply.com to coin supply express.com. Forget coin supply express - they're good for plastic tubes, but bank supply has the best prices on flat paper wrappers by far.

Yeah Fat Freddy, they are the cheapist if you need wraps. Il pay 4.25 per pack, so 6 packs shipped runs me about 30-35$ dont remember exactly the shipping.
That does 120 boxes, so figure 2.5 monthes for me.
So 9 weeks divided by lets round up to 36$= 4$ a week.
Much better then fighting tellers for wrappers, been there done that.Nothing worse then you have 6 boxes to do, and the teller gives you 20 wraps, and you have to keep asking for more, or go to multiple banks, 4$ works for me.

I agree, banksupplies.com is the cheapest I have found so far. Every once in a while I think they offer free shipping specials if you order more than $75. Get on their e-mail list. If you are going to continue to Roll Hunt, I would suggest ordering enough to take advantage of the free shipping. It's not like the wrappers will go bad.
On a side note: The half wrappers are are well made. I have only had 1 seam break in almost 3 cases of wrappers. Unlike some of the cheaper wrappers.

Thank you all for the sites. I have also discovered that it is fairly easy to pry open machine wrapped rolls once you get the hang of it. Although it does add some time to search a box.

Why are you wasting time wrapping them? Take them to a bank that has a sorting machine.  |
