I have one too, cc1628.
I think that it was part of a charm bracelet. It does not have much
weight to it, correct?

Vasco Nuñez de Balboa was the first explorer of the New World reach the Pacific (by crossing the Isthmus of Panama). Perhaps one of a series of conquistador medals, or something produced by a municipality named for or founded by him?

Actually, looks to be "un" (one) Balboa, rather than "V. N.," the unit of Panamanian currency.
