I was hunting through some 1950 Washington quarters and I was hoping to find an S/D or a D/S but came across this unusual mint mark. It looks like an S over a g. The S looks like a lower case g. Maybe caused by a chipped die? I think it's cool. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for the help.

I thought a filled die would leave less of an image, not more.

Thank you all for the help. My own vote was for a die chip too.

Is there ANY premium above silver value on this or is it just a novelty item? I hate the idea of flipping it for silver value so I've put this coin in a 2x2 and will file it with the other error coins in my collection.

Thanks again for your help and or input.
