I see no signs of damage that would cause this depression. Anyone know what this is?

could have been struck through something, what does the reverse look like?

The reverse looks unc with just a small bag mark or two and a few minor scuffs

Not sure if PMD or struck through also.
Is the rev. a type 1 ?

It is a common type 2. The reason it doesn't look like PMD to me is that the area with that depression has no scratches, it's very smooth.
Unless it was something solid wrapped in something soft like cloth?

It was struck through unknown debris, might garner a few extra dollars from an Ike aficionado.

Well, I'll probably hold on to it if it's nothing TOO valuable, since I'm obviously an ike fan :)
