Thanks, mestephil! This beauty arrived Monday. Acquired in an online auction for 1/3 of what sellers are asking on ebay.

That would be interesting if the ASEs had Roman numeral dates. Of course it wouldn't really make any sense to do so (unlike with the early AGEs which used Roman numerals as a tribute to the 1907 high relief double eagle) but it would still be really cool.

This chunky 1980 Mexico Casa de Moneda Onza showed up in the mail today. A hefty 33.625 g and at 41.5 mm it's a tight squeeze getting it into a flip. Won't fit in a dollar 2X2.

You could buy 2.5" x 2.5" coin flips made for ASE. They have a 43 mm diameter window. For example: https://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/pr...mm-ases.html

NumisEd, it fits in a flip which then fits in a 2X2 slot in my binder. If I went to 2.5X2.5s, I would have to get new pages, and I don't have enough of these oversized coins to justify that.

I bought a grab bag of assorted world coins at a pawn shop for $20. I could tell it had enough silver in there to make it worth it. When I got home, I kept finding more and more :-) I found there were 48 50% silver sixpence, 47 50% silver threepence, a sterling shilling, 5 sterling sixpence, 25 sterling threepence, all Australian. Also 2 US silver dimes, and a 50% New Zealand sixpence.

LCS had purchased a mess of Washington quarters he hadn't picked through. Got $4 face at 20x--most are1964 BU (blast white?), but a VF 1936, a VG/F 1935 (can't read the mintmark), another VG 1936--plus a G 1928 and G 1916D Barber. While I was there, a guy came in and sold some coins--LCS tossed them on my work pile. Bought an 1882 Morgan VF for $25.
