Hi, I was wondering if anyone here had experience with the PCGS bulk submission, I have a few old bank rolls that that have some really sharp coins in them and was considering sending in the entire rolls. I was wondering if anyone whose used it before has been happy with the grading overall and if it would be worth it- I've sent a coin from each roll in already and got a MS66's on all 4 I sent from rolls of 1950's Jefferson nickels, so I know the quality is there...

PCGS really doesn't care how many you want to send in, they'll grade them. But if you are wanting the steep discounted bulk submission rate I do believe you now have to be a PCGS authorized dealer. I used to be they let the collectors club members who paid their annual fee get in on it but I think they shut that door about two years ago.

Ive never done it but this is what they say about it http://www.pcgs.com/services/bulksubmissions.html Its mentions collectors club members so I dont think you have to be a dealer to do it.

Plus they charge by coin examined, I don't think they will let you send in a roll of 20 coins, examine them all and then just charge you for they ones they grade and slab, unless 60% meet a minimum grade.

Even at a discount, 40 coins per roll is a steep price, what are you hoping for, for value back ?

Hi Denco, the rolls I have are 56-P, 57-P and 2 57-D's, when I got them, I took one from each roll and sent them in and got a 66 on all of them, and most of the coins in each of the rolls are really close with good strikes and almost no marks in the fields, so I'm sure I will get some more 66's, and even if I put it with a minimum grade of 65, that would let me get to the 60% mark, while the 65's aren't big coins, I'm sure I would be able to at least recover the grading cost on them, I would think...

Nice coins! With the 1956 in MS66 valued at $45.00, I would say that it would be a good investment to get them graded. Wo knows? One could come back as a MS-67?
