It would appear to me that the coin in this listing stating its a "mule" coin isn't an error at all. Since it is the silver "proof" version, the lack of the ring on the reverse is the exactly the way that it should have been minted.
The "mule" is the regular PL coin that ended up in sets that don't have the ring on the reverse.
Someone is going to be very disappointed... ignorance is bliss I suppose...
