And I am in the camp that thinks pm is over valued these days, so I would want something with a lot of numismatic value. I'd lean towards a $3 gold coin myself. Of course, I'm not the one buying. Is the gold a bullion value or numismatic value? I agree with Wilhelm and Sel. If your a beginner buyer you need to figure in a lot of information to make a profit. IMHO. Good luck!
