I had another look at the small picture on page 44 Charlton and it also now looks like a short denticle----bad illustration/photo. lambecolin Pillar of the Community Canada 618 Posts	Posted 05/08/2013 11:16 pm Thinking out aloud about the minting process and the marker which is leaving one denticle short:: How would the die be corrected to rectify the short denticle when the marker is polished off? Is it possible? Maybe these markers are not part of the die--- merely silver slivers placed carefully onto a planchet--Die drops down and denticles/legends formed around the marker. Then we have a weakness and half a denticle drops off? Nothing makes sense to me about these markers. Report this Post to the Staff
