This was found "in the wild" so to speak; in a bag of Ike dollars. So I paid a buck for it.

This is a centered double strike with no rotation of the coin between strikes. The first strike was in-collar and the second out-of-collar (broadstruck). Nice score.

Yep, this was the conclusion on the PCGS forums where I initially posted it shortly after finding it.

Not surprising since it is rather obvious that that is what it is.

Im definetly going to be bidding then! Wonderful find! What are you thinking as to a grade? I'm guessing AU from the pics, but it could be much different in hand. I'm not expeirenced with grading Kennedys either.

Edit- Btw where did you find a bag of Ikes? I've tried a few banks and none have nor can/wont order them.

I'd call it a 62-63. Speculating it would sell for $400-$500 if I slabbed it.

I only know of one bank that will order Ikes out of the dozens I've talked to. They're local and only have 15 or so branches. Two branches order for me a week, they don't always get them though.

How much squash could a Sasquatch squash if a Sasquatch would squash squash?
