CoinManTim Valued Member Australia 318 Posts	Posted 05/12/2013 01:34 am Bank rang me at work the other day to come in; they had $20 worth or 1c and 2c pieces come in. The lot was made up of $16 worth of 1c pieces and 4$ worth of 2c pieces. The 1 cent lot... well, it contained 2 x 1968s. HOWEVER The $4 worth of 2c pieces contained 28 1968s!! (Didn't bother checking for no sds, but could this be one of best finds in a long time? ;) The bank manager's last day in town was Friday. CoinManTim Valued Member Australia 318 Posts	Posted 05/12/2013 02:37 am Not sure on the 1969s -- my process with copper is to pull out the 1968s and throw them in my 1968 copper jar... for safe keeping, or a rainy day, whatever - dunno what I'll do with em. -- all other dates I just throw into my scrap box, when I get 10kg or so I take them in for scrapping. Got probably 25kg of them last year, but so far not much this year except that $20 haul - everything else has been in lots less than $1- Report this Post to the Staff

serial Pillar of the Community Australia 539 Posts	Posted 05/12/2013 06:39 am well I think the trick is to get un noodled lots, I tend to raid banks and get told they have had them for upwards of 20 years! however I have cleaned all the banks out within 60km of wa cbd (racked a few kms up!)
