1857 Flying Eagle Cent Ve-35 EF-40?

I went to a dealer and asked him what he thought it's grade was and he said it was VF-35. but when I looked at his coins of the same year his looked worse than mine, but he graded them at EF-40. here is the pic. After looking at the PCGS photograde, and with all your help I have concluded that my coin is VF-35 and worth about 80-100$ thanks everybody. Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6398 Posts	Posted 09/30/2013 12:21 am The level of wear merits VF-35 but I'd be bothered by the shallow old scratches which would likely cause a "Details" grade at a grading service. Maybe it's just your photograph but the obverse surface also looks uniformly granular. This could indicate a further issue with "environmental damage", a.k.a. corrosion. Doesn't mean you can't get $80-100 for it on ebay! Report this Post to the Staff
