I started collecting in 2003 after I retired and I still can not figure out some aspects of this hobby. For example the mintage for the 2005 p cent is 30 million and 500 thousand and this coin can be obtained for a few bucks in bu state. The 2006p cent is scarcer and has a mintage of 137 million and 525 thousand but it is harder to acquire especially in circulation. I am sure the cent guys could give a good opinion on the subject.

Plus the 2006p is being driven up in price due to demand in the marketplace. We'll see how long that lasts...
