Trying to identify this for someone. My searching has turned up some similar items, but no exact match. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

enzeno- I'm sorry to say, but that it just a modern Chinese fantasy coin. The details are too 'mushy' to be an officially-struck coin. And the design does not look official at all.

Actually, it's not a "modern Chinese fantasy coin".

It is a "one dollar" silver coin minted in 1931 by the Chinese Soviet Republic.

Authentic coins are very rare and valuable.

However, I have no doubt but that the OP's coin is a "fake".

You can read more about these rare coins at this website.

Thanks very much for this information. Is there anything further that I can do to verify if in fact it is not legit? Weights/measurements? It does look like one of the pictures you sent over, although the mouth looks a little different. Any other help would be great.

By its looks, however, I have to concur with Archraz and manymore about it being a fake.

With this type of fake, the easiest way to confirm it is to see if it sticks to a magnet. 95% of Chinese fakes are made of scrap steel or nickel which are quite magnetic (where silver is not).
