1890 Double Florin: Keep Or Return?

johnny676767 Pillar of the Community United States 522 Posts	Posted 01/08/2014 8:20 pm I bought this for $38. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1890-GREAT-...p=true&rt=nc However, the coin does not exhibit the same toning in hand. It has clearly been dipped. I, personally, don't care for dipped coins. I like old coins that look old (and quite honestly can't afford those that don't). The rim ding at 4 o'clock is also more pronounced in hand. I'm torn because the details are decent and it seems to be a better date. Would you keep it or return it? Thoughts? It only shows the colors in the pic when held a a certain angle. When seen straight on, it's shiny white. The pictures are what fooled me. It's very strage, but the surfaces have been tampered with.
