1914-Barber-Quarter---Did-I-Miss-Out-On-Something-Nice?

I came across this 1914 Barber quarter on ebay with less than two minutes before the auction ended. It was sitting at $25 with one bid. I threw in a cautious bid not having had time to closely examine the coin, but was outbid at the last second. The coin sold for $56.

The more I look at it the nicer it seems. Do people want to weigh in and make me feel bad that I let something real nice slip through my fingers? It wouldn't be the first time. I guess you win some and you lose some

Not a bad price for that coin, especially if you like toned coins. I can't tell if it is mint state or not but AU would be a bargain at $56.

I'm not buying that toning as remotely original, and am willing to bet there's something you don't want to see under it.
