1878-S Trade Dollar - Counterfeit/Fake Or Real?

alex1981 New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 04/09/2014 11:36 pm I bought this 1878s Trade dollar a couple of days ago. The weight (27.12g) and size seem to be ok. It passes magnet test as well. However I am still concerned whether it is a counterfiet/fake or not. I'd really appreciate anyone's input and tips for telling the real ones from the fakes. Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff

alex1981 New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 04/09/2014 11:54 pm I was concerned about the mint mark positioning compared to this image ( http://www.tradedollarnut.com/Home%...78/1878S.htm ), and some of the stars on obverse. Probably I'm too paranoic :) Report this Post to the Staff
