chrsmat71 Pillar of the Community United States 4984 Posts	Posted 04/11/2014 10:33 pm bout a month ago I picked up this three little "uncleaned provincials of thrace". had fun cleaning and attributing. didn't really clean up much, but here they were after a bout or three of cleaning. please check my attribution. geta nicaea, bithynia o:geta kaica r: a garlanded, flaming altar. nikaiewn (looks more like nikaie n w to me) lindgren 187 16mm 2.0g my first geta! caracalla markianopolis o: avt km avp antwninoc (good luck seeing any of it) r: lion walking left, markianopolitwn something below lion...anyone know? moushmov 442 and this one..BD...i was afraid of that. well, I did the best I could. then I got some verdi-care to treat my julian ii coin, so I thought i'd give this one a go again. stripped off the wax and re-scrubbed and picked, soaked in verdi-care, let dry ...here it is now. not bad hu? I was very happy with that outcome! elagabalus markianopolis 218-222 o:AVT K M AVP ANTΩNEINOC r:MAPKIANOΠOΛITΩN, tripod with serpent. 16 mm 3.1g moushmov 653. Report this Post to the Staff
