Tell you the truth, I really can't tell what your seeing from the pictures. Some Die Deterioration and a hit on the 'R' maybe.

On the face I can't tell. and in the picture of the torch I don't know what your seeing.

Are you thinking maybe some Die Clash?

I for one am not sure.

I see evidence of a die polishing that affected the deeper devices. The edges of the devices are thinned on the Crown. On the "R" I see a contact mark diagonally across the device. The center of the "R" doe look different, but nothing seems to show hub doubling. Just altered devices from a very strong die polishing.

Thanks coop, that would make sense.

There is just such a loss of detail, eg, on the hair, wrist, lines of Liberty's crown. There isn't a single straight line on Liberty. All the contours look wavy, the bottom of the torch is misshapen, etc. It's a beautiful coin, too bad really.
