I have a coin which appears to be silver from the lustre and weight but could be something else. I have no intention of trying to clean it to find out.
It measures approximately 4 inches in diametre. The front has a male bust and the inscription "DEI GRATIA 1816 FERDIN VII"
The back has a crest with two columns on the sides, a crown over it with castles on the left top and right bottom and lions rampant on the top right and lower left of the shield. The inscription is "HISPANI ET IND REX M 8R I I "
Where the spaces appear there are dots.
I have taken this coin to several dealers and none have been able to identify it.
Any ideas will be appreciated.
