1882 Morgan - Missing D In Dollar And Some Of The E In One

The coin has some significant toning, and I need to redo my lighting to get a more accurate coloring. Anyway. See the picture, on the reverse of the Morgan, some of the E in ONE, and almost all of the D in Dollar is missing. The detail on the reverse of the coin is there including on the chest of the eagle, so I didn't think it was wear. Is this an error, rather than a VAM? Hard to find choice specimens from the high mintage Philly years, that don't have the greasy or grainy look or massive die cracks. Report this Post to the Staff
