Hi friends, I got a strange coin and could not find in any coin catalogue. Most probably it is a Greek coin.Right?it is 42.27 grams. Thanks a lot for all your help...
I looks like a reproduction of an Athens Dekadrachm. The reverse is well copied on a number of examples, but the obverse seems new, and has yet to appear on the forgery reports. The Bust style is not consistent with a coin of this age, although the weight is close to correct the coin is not real. If it were you could sell it go on vacation and pick out that new Lamborghini.
The coin appears struck and the weight is correct for a dekadrachm, but the bust is know that I have ever seen for this type before. IMO it looks real enough to have it verified. Your best bet is to take the coin over to the British Museum and have them check it out. If this piece turns out to be real, it may be one of a kind and worth a great deal of money.
