Expecting to see some genuine coins from Sigismund (Hungary) today. As warning to all collectors, here a fake: Contemporary (ie late 14th to early 15th century) forgery of a Denar of Sigismund (1387-1437)

AR Triple Dirhem AHxx2 minted in Bagdad from Ghiyath al din Ahmad ibn Oweys (*), of the Jalaraids from Iraq - cf.Mitchiner p.262 Obverse: Kalima Reverse inscription contains "Ahmad", "Bagdad" and "two" (rest of date off flan). (*) Ghiyath al din Ahmad ibn Oweys ruled the Jalaraid realms in AH784-796 and again in AH807-813 (ie between 1382 and 1410), unfortunately that leaves two years namely AH792 and AH812 in which this coin can have been minted.

Ceitil from John I of Portugal - not fully attributed Obverse: +AD...S around crowned IHNS Reverse: legend around cross made from the arms of Portugal The coin is either from the interregnum (1383-1385) during which John I was regent or from his reign proper (1385-1433). Would love to claim the first, but so far have not been able to find a reference which would allow me to nail a more detailed attribution down.

Less than half an hour to go with this decade, so let me throw another coin in from an important ruler: Ar Double Dirhem minted in AH785 (ie 13/03/1383-01/03/1384) by Timur Gurkan (1370-1405), the founder of the Timurid dynasty (modern day Iran) - Mitchiner#1884 Obverse: Kalima followed by "785" Reverse: Inscription contains "Suyurghatmish" and "Timur Gurkan" This coin was minted by Timur Gurkan (aka Tamerlane) while he still nominally recognised the overlordship of Suyurghatmish Jagatai.

Prager Groschen minted in Kuttenberg for Wenceslas III (or IV), King of Bohemia 1378-1419 Some accounts have him as Wenceslas IV because there was another Wencelas who ruled only part of Bohemia during a time of political uproar, but that one didn't issue any Prager Groschen. Obverse: Inscription around lion of Bohemia rampant left. Reverse: Inscription in two cirles "...LAVS:TERTIVS.." around crown And what would the inscriptions read on a better coin? Obverse: GROSSI PRAGENSES Reverse: DEI GRATIA REX:BOEMIE around +WENCESLAVS:TERTIVS
