I am guessing this is AU, but is it 53, 55, or 58? Or am I wrong about the AU?

I can't buy XF with that little wear on the heaband, headdress, shoulder, neck or legs.

AU-50 at best I think. Looks problem-free. Mintmark is a soft blob, as usual. A slightly better date, worth a premium in all grades. Pretty nice!

Heritage has almost 500 1910-S Half Eagles in their Archive. Not difficult to see how they grade.

With some decent luster it will make AU. If the luster is heavily subdued then XF. Not much difference between a 45 and a 50 really.

Totally agree with BH1964..

Not really seeing any luster in these pics, which is why I'm leaning more EF.

Even in EF this is still a $400.+ coin. I like to see these graded,
just to be authenticated and for the peace of mind..
Much easier to pass down or sell in the future.
Looks like this one is a nice original problem-free coin.
One of my favorite classic designs.
