Tagged in!! Here's a recent arrival: 1812 Capped Bust half dollar (O-108/R-2) The seller sold this as an Overton-108. I think it might have enough of the characteristics to actually be an O-108a. Opinions?

Fifth edition Overton book says additional die crack at 50 C and one running across the eagle's head for o.108a. I don't think I see one across the eagle's head, but also never seen a o.108a in person to make a true judgment. I would lean toward o.108.

Sorry for not adhering to the schedule. I haven't been here for ages....but I wanted to share some pictures of my prized trio. They wouldn't please the most discriminating among us, but I have about 400 dollars in all 3 coins, and they're pleasing enough to me taking that into consideration. These are the 3 representatives from my Dansco 7070 type set. I haven't scored a quarter yet. I have a VG 1818, but it's the larger diameter and won't fit the 7070 anyway. The grade wouldn't work either. I wish I could take better pics. The Half Dime 1829 LM13.1 is definitely uncirculated, but my lousy picture makes it look like silly putty. The 1832 dime has been very lightly polished ... still some mint luster remaining ... I never attributed that one The 1822 Capped Bust half dollar was graded au-55 polished. What appears to be scratches in the obverse field ... is lapping marks. They are raised ... not incuse. I think it'san O-103 (1822/1) Chance

Any love for crusty fish scales here? Choice coin; poor photos. Gradable?

Hard to tell from the pictures. I don't see any reason it wouldn't, but I see lots of "improperly cleaned" coins in slabs that I wouldn't be too proud to own. Aren't Half Dimes fun to photograph? Thanks for the "welcome" I appreciate it a lot. Chance

Very nice! Is that just the Mylar reflecting or do I see some rainbow tone on that half dollar?
