English Medieval Penny - 1279-1307 Edward I Pennies

Archraz Pillar of the Community United States 3499 Posts	Posted 08/12/2015 2:15 pm Hi everyone, I just picked up these two nice English Edward I pennies. However, I'm really not entirely sure as to the value of either. But I think that I got a fair deal. I believe that they both are in Fine condition. I didn't know much about these, but wanted one of the type. mine was 25 bucks shipped, which I thought was very reasonable. and thanks for that pdf ski...downloaded! I would think that if Chrsmat71 got his penny for $25 then we must have all over paid buy quite a bit! I got mine for around $75, I think I can't really remember. Kingdom of England England, Lincoln Edward I Plantagenet r. AD 1272- 1307 AR penny 18 mm x 1.35 g, Lincoln, long cross type, class 3d. Obverse: +EDW R' ANGL' DNS HYB. Crowned bust facing. Reverse: CIVI/ TAS/ LIN/ COL separated by long cross, three pellets in each angle. Reference: North 1019; S 1390/1427. Very Fine, nice strike, toned. Provenance: ex. David L Tranbarger; ex Steven Damron, his tag included; ex Col. Ted Schmidt (tag included, purchased Al Boulanger, FPL 30, lot 190); ex. B. Yarbrough. Report this Post to the Staff
